Dip your toes into freediving with this intro course designed to teach you the basics of this sport, or use it to expand your snorkelling skills to become what we call a ‘deep snorkeler’, and increase your time underwater observing marine life.
You will start the day with a theory session covering the basics of freediving physiology, breathing and relaxation. After that, you will hit the water to put your new knowledge into practice and get a feel for descending on a line. If you are hooked after this introductory session and wish to continue to become a full-fledged certified diver, you can arrange to complete the AIDA Level 2 course.
Course breakdown:
Duration: Half a day
Theory session: physiology, breathing, and safety.
Workshop: breathwork and relaxation.
Open water: descending on a line, equalisation, relaxation and breath hold.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years old (or 14 with parental consent).
Must be able to swim.
Price: £80
This course includes insurance during the course.
We can offer basic kit to those that need it, otherwise students should bring their own. Suit not needed.
The course will be taught following AIDA standards. -

Duration: 2.5 days
Theory session: basic freediving physiology and physics, breathing techniques, impacts of depth and pressure, equalisation, freediving disciplines, safety and rescue.
Workshop: breathing and relaxation techniques and dry static breath hold.
Confined water session: static and dynamic freediving.
Open water: surface breathe-up, dive visualisation, duck dive, equalisation, finning techniques, correct weighting, buddy system, safety and rescue*.
*Students will be required to complete a rescue between 5-10 meters to pass the course.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years old (or 14 with parental consent).
Must be able to swim 200m without fins.

Are you a certified diver looking to advance your skills, achieve greater depth and improve your technique? This course will take your diving to the next level.
This course emphasises bringing divers to new depths (20-30m) where they will reach negative buoyancy, unlocking the “gateway to the deep” and experiencing the free fall. You will learn more efficient equalisation techniques and how to streamline your posture to help you progress safely to new depths.
By the end of this course, you will also be able to plan your training as well as design your stretching routine (lung and diaphragm stretching).
The goal of the course is to achieve a static breath hold of 2 minutes 45 seconds, a dynamic of 55 meters and constant weight freedive to 24-30 meters.
Course breakdown:
Duration: 3 days
Theory session: advanced freediving physiology, changes that occur in the body in a high-pressure environment and how these changes can be used to improve freediving performance.
Stretching session: general and thoracic.
Confined water session: improvement of static and dynamic techniques.
Open water: Frenzel equalisation, learning to free fall, improve breath hold to reach greater depth safely.
Requirements:
Be at least 18 years old (or 14 with parental consent).
Know how to swim 400 meters without fins.
Have passed AIDA level 2.
Valid medical certificate issued within the last 2 years stating you have “no medical contradictions for freediving”.
Have recorded a minimum of 15 freedive sessions.
As part of this course, you will be provided with a digital course manual, insurance during the course and a certificate of attendance. Certification will be provided at the end of the course once the minimum requirements have been met.
Price: £320
Students should bring their own kit including mask, snorkel, weight belt, weights and fins. Suit required. Some kit can be supplied if needed for the duration of the course.
The course will be taught following AIDA standards.

This is the most advanced freediving level there is. By the end of this course, you will be able to dive to between 30-40m, and have well and truly unlocked the gateway to the deep.
You will learn to dive beyond your residual volume and beat your failure depth. To achieve that, we will teach you the advanced equalisation technique of ‘mouthfill’ and get you to practise exhale diving (FRC) which will help condition your body to depth.
Course breakdown:
Duration: 4 days
Theory session: equalising at depth using the “mouthfill” technique, understanding your limitations and failure depth. You will learn how to perform exhale dives (FRC), and understand the risks of decompression sickness and deep narcosis.
Confined water session: warm-ups, training tables for improved dynamic and static, and max attempt.
Open water: practice the “mouthfill”, diving in residual volume (FRC) to condition your body to depth and pressure. Carry out safety and rescue training at depth.
Requirements:
Have completed AIDA Level 3.
Be at least 18 years old (or 16 with parental consent).
Know how to swim 400 meters without fins.
Have recorded at least 25 freediving sessions.

Proud to have met Alexis and Charlie again, Golden humans with a very strong connection to water and the sea!!
They know how to transmit this message “to be ourselves and to let go firstly on ourselves! By drawing inspiration from our connections to the elements” 🙌✨🐋

“Freediving with Alexis and Charlie was hands down one of the most magical weeks I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.
This was my first-time freediving, and I instantly felt we had a highly experienced and quality instructor in Alexis. I felt safe and reassured at every moment, especially when struggling to learn a new method of equalising and have felt so much more confident in the water since.
Staying on Feral for the 5 days, meant falling asleep to the sound of snapping shrimp, practising breath work on deck to the gentle roll of the swell, conservations over dinner with Charlie and Alexis about ocean conservation, the occasional slap of a fish on the hull. So really, the whole experience was never simply about freediving. I felt totally immersed with sea, whether we were training in the water or having breakfast. Truly beautiful!”

“Alexis and Charlie are fantastic instructors, calming and reassuring at the same time as helping you develop your freedive skills. Spending time before and after training aboard Feral made me feel relaxed before taking to the water too. Can’t wait to come back and dive with them again!”

“I have been freediving with Alexis a few times and each time have felt so at ease and empowered. He has a real skill at making you feel comfortable and safe in the water and encouraging you to do the best you can do. I have progressed so much with each lesson and look forward to continuing my training with Alexis. Charlie is absolutely lovely, doing her utmost to make you feel at home and look after you whilst staying on Feral. I have made the best memories with them and would recommend it to anyone.”
